Forthcoming Inspection of Monmouth Comprehensive School
As you may already know, Monmouth Comprehensive School is soon to be inspected as part of the programme of regular school inspections arranged by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector for Education and Training in Wales.

The inspection will be carried out by a team led by Mr P Carter, a registered inspector.

Students brought home a letter on Friday 15th January inviting parents to attend a meeting with Mr Carter at 5pm on 8th February. The purpose of the meeting is to give an opportunity for parents to talk to the Lead Inspector about the school. The letter is accompanied by a questionnaire and a booklet explaining the inspection process. Copies of the letter and the questionnaire can be found in the Parents' section of this website.

This is Monmouth Comprehensive School's new website for access to general school information and also communication between teachers and students through Monmouthshire's Moodle - Monmoodle.

If you are a student at the school you can login to Monmoodle at the top right of this page using the username and password you will be given by the school.

Monmoodle is the place where your learning in the classroom can connect with the outside world. Your teachers can make multimedia resources available to you to make your learning more interesting, more relevant and more varied.

You will be able to access learning materials that have been provided for you by your teachers in 'Courses' that have been designed to integrate with your learning in the classroom.

You will be able to express your views on issues relating to the work through forums with other students and your teacher. You may be asked to watch a video or listen to a sound file, to prompt you to solve a problem, to remind you how to do a task or perhaps prepare you for the next classroom lesson.

Your teacher may ask you to submit work through their 'Course' homepage so that they can mark it before the next class lesson or you may have an online review quiz to complete to help focus you on recent work.

If you are absent or unable to attend particular lessons, you may be able to view what the rest of your class has been studying - all through Monmoodle.

If you have a son or daughter in the school please ask him or her to show you how learning works through Monmoodle. You will become better connected with his or her work in school, helping facilitate your essential contribution to your child's learning.

In future the school classroom will extend well beyond the boundaries of the school allowing students a greater choice of subjects and a greater breadth of learning materials.
